This is **not a traditional, high-level oversight or advisory position**. We are **looking for a builder, someone who will operate directly in the trenches**, **establish robust financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and actively develop our finance team** as the company continues to scale rapidly. The ideal candidate has **strong knowledge of Saudi accounting, tax, zakat, VAT, audit, and regulatory requirements**, with experience in fast-paced companies. Startup experience is highly preferred, and experience in construction, contracting, building materials, or marketplace businesses is a strong plus. #### Key Responsibilities - Own the full accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and monthly closing. - Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial statements. - Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and reporting packs for leadership, investors, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders. - Own the external audit process end to end, including preparation of audit schedules, coordination with auditors, resolution of audit comments, and timely issuance of audited financial statements. - Ensure compliance with all applicable Saudi laws and requirements, including tax, zakat, VAT, withholding tax, e-invoicing, accounting standards, and regulatory filings. - Strengthen internal controls across finance, procurement, payments, collections, revenue recognition, inventory-related processes, and expense management. - Build scalable finance processes, policies, approval workflows, and reporting structures suitable for a high-growth startup. - Work closely with business, operations, credit, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure financial data is accurate and properly reflected in the accounts. - Monitor receivables, payables, collections, supplier payments, working capital, and cash reporting. - Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by providing reliable actuals and clear explanations of financial performance. - Identify gaps in systems, controls, and processes, then take ownership of fixing them directly. - Build, manage, and develop the accounting and finance operations team as the company scales. - Support ERP, accounting system, and finance automation initiatives. #### Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred. - Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting, tax, zakat, VAT, audit, and compliance requirements. - Strong technical accounting skills and ability to prepare accurate financial statements. - Experience owning accounting, audit, and reporting functions end to end. - Prior experience in a startup, scale-up, marketplaces, fintech, construction, contracting, or building materials business is highly preferred. - Experience in construction or a related sector is a strong plus. - Previous Big 4 experience is a plus. - Strong Arabic and English communication skills are required. - Strong command of Excel and accounting or ERP systems. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. - High attention to detail, strong ownership, and strong execution mindset. - Comfortable working directly on the details, not only managing or reviewing others’ work. - Strong leadership and team management skills #### #### What we offer: - Great opportunity to be part of a start-up with a lot of responsibility and independence early on and where you will have an impact on the entire business. - The best idea wins; we are all ears when it comes to ways to do things better. - Exciting stock options and Premium health insurance. - Attractive compensation package. - Product first mindset. #### --- *Check our guide on**[How to prepare for your interviews with BRKZ 🚚🏗️](https://www.notion.so/How-to-prepare-for-your-interviews-with-BRKZ-1050a449029c80df85fbec82913780b1?pvs=4)*** *Pls note : Certain positions eventual grading might be subject to interview performance, this allows great talent to shine regardless of years of experience and keeps a fair process based on how big of an impact you deliver in the organization.* --- Source: BRKZ's own career page, read by RemJobs.
