# Senior Engineer, State Estimation and Modeling - (SJ2026DV)

**Archer** · San Jose, California, United States

Apply: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/archer56/jobs/7977442003

## About Archer

Archer is the financial infrastructure for the AI data economy.

We’re building global payouts, stablecoin banking, and yield infrastructure for the companies supplying data to frontier AI labs.

As demand for high-quality data grows, millions of contributors around the world are generating, labeling, validating, and improving the datasets that power modern AI systems. Yet the financial infrastructure behind these platforms remains slow, fragmented, and expensive.

Archer enables data marketplaces, AI labor platforms, and reinforcement learning environment providers to onboard workers globally, pay contributors instantly, and earn yield on idle balances.

Today, companies use Archer to manage contributor earnings, global payouts, and treasury operations across hundreds of countries and payment corridors.

We believe the next generation of AI companies will need purpose-built financial infrastructure. Just as cloud providers became the backbone of software, Archer is building the financial layer for the global workforce powering artificial intelligence.

## About the role

Archer is an aerospace and defense company headquartered in San Jose, California, building the aircraft and technology that will define the next era of flight. The company works across air taxis, UAS, AI and powertrain development — building real-world systems that combine software intelligence with physical hardware. That includes Midnight, Archer's all-electric air taxi; Halo, an autonomous vertical takeoff and landing aircraft built for both commercial and defense use; and ZEE, Archer's AI foundation model built specifically for aviation. We’re seeking exceptional engineers, operators and builders to join us on our mission to build the future of aerospace and defense.

Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.

What You’ll Do

- Architect and design advanced state estimation algorithms for eVTOL aircraft, ensuring safety while considering performance, robustness, and computational efficiency.

- Implement state estimation algorithms, primarily in Simulink, ensuring adherence to modeling standards and best practices.

- Integrate state estimation solutions with various hardware components, including air data systems, Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and other aviation-grade sensors.

- Synthesize system requirements used to drive design and ensure cross-functional needs are met.

- Develop and execute creative verification and validation (V&V) strategies for state estimation algorithms, including simulation, hardware-in-the loop (HIL) testing, and flight testing.

- Develop and refine models to simulate sensors in nominal, degraded operation, and failure scenarios.

- Analyze and interpret data from simulation, lab testing, and flight testing to identify issues and characterize real-world performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including control laws, hardware, software, and test engineers, to solve complex aircraft-level problems and ensure seamless integration.

- Build tools and processes to maximize engineering capability.
